and the morning came

by Lydia Plain

/

about

"and the morning came" is made with samples from my songs "Morning, "City" and "Walls". The synth is used as a carpet where the vocals are added. The main female vocals are accompanied by the "male" backing vocals which are actually my own - lowered in pitch. The goal for this arrangement is to create this numbing though relaxing atmosphere where the ideas of time, place and loneliness are weaved through the lyrics.

lyrics

Aah aah
(I live in this big city)
Aah aah
To forget
A friend
Aah
Till the ground
Aah
All these words flying around
(Possession, impression)
And the morning came
(I live in this big city)
To forget
A friend
(In this city)
Till the ground
To forget
And the morning came
(This city)
A friend
And the morning came
A friend
(Aah)
And the morning came
A friend
(Aah)
Without a friend
