about

I wrote this song in the summer of 2016.
The recording in the Black Hole sessions happened in August 2017.

At first I didn't like how I performed this song in the Black Hole live, because I was sick with migraines at that time and my vocal-control wasn't as accurate as I'd hope. But after listening to it over and over, I've come to not only accept how it turned out, but also to prefer it like this. So, now I don't wish to re-record it for a different result. I like this one: it reflects pain through the vocal performance, which is the point of the lyrics. :)

Also, I think that in the piano arrangement and the harmonic ambient of this song there's a smell of Christmas... Don't you think?

lyrics

The calling
You won't even answer
The falling
Your heart plays the dancer

Be quick!
And don't forget the yogurt
They think
We'll be there in August

I'm distant, you say
Coldhearted and wild
No one knows about those days
When you were wondering
Who dialed the number of help
To get out of your hell
But I can't speak about these
Mad reasons why I freeze

And his eyes are full of life
And his smile brings all that light

But I'm living in the black
How to leave this comfort dark

And you'll never understand
Why you're banished from my land
You're banished from my land
